Born January 8, 1986, in Hunan, China) is a Chinese professional female tennis player.
She began playing at age eight when an uncle (a famous tennis coach in China and the only other family member who plays tennis) introduced her to the game. She favors hard courts and forehand (though her backhand is the better side). Her father Peng Jijun is a police officer and her mother is Zhang Bing. At age 13, Peng Shuai was submitted to a heart surgery, a situation which she explains in the "Impossible is Nothing" campaign from Adidas.

Tamarine Tanasugarn (Thai: แทมมารีน ธนสุกาญจน์; born May 24, 1977) is a professional female Thai tennis player. She was born in Los Angeles, California, U.S. and turned professional in 1994. She has been in the top twenty in both singles and doubles.

Tanasugarn's highest WTA ranking has been world number 19, a ranking she achieved on May 13, 2002. She has won two singles titles. She was briefly a doubles partner with Maria Sharapova, with whom she won two titles in 2003. She won a total of five doubles titles. Her highest doubles ranking was world number 15 which she achieved on September 13, 2004. With Liezel Huber, she reached the 2004 U.S. Open doubles quarterfinals.

In her career, Tanasugarn has defeated former number ones Amélie Mauresmo[1] and Jennifer Capriati[2]. She has also beaten Mary Pierce[3]. All of these women were Grand Slam champions.

Li Na (Chinese: 李娜; pinyin: Lǐ Nà; born February 26, 1982 in Wuhan, Hubei), is a Chinese professional female tennis player. She has been one of the most successful tennis players in the country's history, and has been instrumental in advancing the sport within China.
Between 1999 and 2004, Li won 20 women's singles titles
In 2000, she won a total of 52 singles matches on the ITF circuit, more than any other player, notching another eight tournament titles including one at $50,000 level, two at $25,000, and an unbroken run of four successive $10,000 tournament wins in March and April.
In May 2004, however, she returned to the circuit unranked, and won her first twenty-six successive matches
2005 saw Li Na finally abandoning the ITF circuit to focus solely on WTA-level events.

Ai Sugiyama (杉山愛, Sugiyama Ai?, born July 5, 1975, Yokohama, Japan) is a Japanese professional tennis player. She turned professional in 1992. In her career so far, she has won 6 singles titles and 36 doubles titles, including three Grand Slam women's doubles titles (1 with Frenchwoman Julie Halard-Decugis and 2 partnering Belgian Kim Clijsters). Ai is coached by her mother and plays a game based on her fitness and speed, utilizing an aggressive serve and volley whenever feasible.

Zheng Jie (simplified Chinese: 郑洁; traditional Chinese: 鄭潔; pinyin: Zhèng Jié; born 5 July 1983) is a Chinese professional female tennis player. She was born in Chengdu, Sichuan province. She made her WTA rankings debut in 2000. She turned professional in 2003 and ended the year for the first time in the top 100[1]. As of 29 September 2008, she is ranked world number 26, making her China's highest-ranked women's singles player ahead of Li Na, who is ranked 30.[1]

At Wimbledon in 2008, Zheng gained recognition by becoming the first Chinese player ever to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam singles tournament, defeating world number one Ana Ivanovic en route [2]. She donated her winnings to the victims of the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, in her native province. She has won three career WTA singles titles: Hobart in 2005, Estoril, Portugal and Stockholm in 2006. She also has won eleven WTA doubles titles, all with Yan Zi, including Grand Slam tournaments Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2006. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Zheng Jie and her partner Yan Zi won the bronze medal in women's tennis doubles, the second time China has ever won an Olympics tennis medal.
