Michelle Ingrid Williams was born on this day September 9, 1980 in Kalispell, Montana. When she was nine years old, her family moved to San Diego, California where she would take an interest in acting against her parents wishes. Williams would emancipate herself from her parents at the age of fifteen, graduate from high school and pursue her acting career. In the 1990’s Michelle appeared in television shows such as Lassie, Baywatch and Home Improvement as well as appearing in movies like Species in 1995, A Thousand Acres in 1997, and Halloween H2O in 1998. She would gain her popularity in the television series Dawson’s Creek from 1998 to 2003. After Michelle’s success in Dawson’s Creek she would stare in movies such as Dick 1999, Prozac Nation 2001, Imaginary Heroes in 2004 as well as many other films. For her performance in Brokeback Mountain, she won a Critic’s Choice Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Since then she has gone on to star in a number of big movies like The Hawk is Dying in 2006,and The Hottest State also in 2006. Her star is on the rise.
